Medium low frequency lightning current shunt (telescopic grounding device)

The low-frequency lightning current splitter in the floating roof tank adopts a telescopic wire design, which can achieve reliable equipotential connection between the tank wall and the floating plate, and can maintain the shortest distance between the tank wall and the floating plate at any time through electrostatic connection. The connecting wire always has the minimum resistance value, providing a low impedance channel for the discharge of lightning current and bound charges, while reducing the instantaneous overvoltage between the floating plate and the tank wall, protecting the sealing ring spacing from arcing, and minimizing the possibility of the tank catching fire due to lightning strikes.
According to section 4.13 of the "Safety Code for Lightning Protection of Petroleum and Petroleum Facilities" GB15599-2009, metal oil tanks must be equipped with circular lightning protection grounding, with no less than two grounding points and a true arc distance of no more than 30m. So, 9 low to medium frequency lightning current splitters are installed on the 100000m ³ external floating roof storage tank, and 7 low to medium frequency lightning current splitters are installed on the 50000m ³ external floating roof storage tank, evenly distributed along the tank wall.
