The 14th Academic Conference on Chemical, Metallurgical, and Materials Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Engineering was held in Dalian from the 12th to the 13th. The conference is themed "Chemical Metallurgical Materials Engineering and Northeast Revitalization", focusing on major national strategic needs, leveraging the interdisciplinary, cross departmental, and cross disciplinary advantages of academicians and their role in attracting, gathering, and cultivating talents, providing intellectual support for Liaoning to build a modern industrial system with Northeast characteristics and win the "Liaoshen Campaign" in the new era.
At the meeting, five academicians of the CAE Member, Liu Jiongtian, Xu Huibin, Li Yuanyuan, Dai Houliang and Liu Zhongmin, respectively made keynote reports around the "scientific basis of key metal metallurgy", "research progress and prospect of advanced aeroengine materials", "research on advanced manufacturing technology of high-performance low-cost titanium alloy powder metallurgy", "research on green low-carbon transformation path of China's chemical and petrochemical industry", and "discussion on low-carbon transformation direction of fossil resources under the" dual carbon "goal". A total of 68 academicians from the Chemical, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering Department of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Engineering Management Department, the Mechanical and Transportation Engineering Department and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as more than 500 experts and scholars in the fields of chemical, metallurgy and materials engineering attended the meeting.
From the 14th to the 15th, more than 20 academicians will participate in research activities on chemical and metallurgical new materials, exploring how the chemical, metallurgical, and materials engineering industries can help Liaoning develop new quality productivity. Before the meeting, the attending academicians attended the academician symposium of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in Liaoning Province on "Jointly Seeking New Quality Productivity and Creating a New Track for Development", witnessing the signing of a new round of provincial academy cooperation agreements.
The conference was hosted by the Department of Chemical, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Department of Science and Technology of Liaoning Province, and co hosted by Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dalian Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, Dalian Society for Science and Technology, and Dalian University of Technology.
